Skater Categories

Before you start the registration process review the skater eligibility for each program.


CanSkate Levels

PreCan is for skaters who have never skated, and are typically 3 to 4 years old.

CanSkate is for skaters who are 4 to 12.  These sessions are suitable for skaters aged 4 and up who have never skated as well as those who are progressing through the 6 badge levels.  The coaches will assess each skater during the first few weeks of the program and assign them to an appropriate group.

*Future Star is a group lesson format for skaters that have completed at least badge 2 in the CanSkate program and want to learn to figure skate.  These sessions are listed under the StarSkate Program.


STARSkate and Competitive Skater Categories

*Future Star - Has completed at least badge 2 in the CanSkate program AND has been recommended for this program by a CanSkate Coach

Star - Has completed the Future Star program OR already has a coach

Senior Star - Can land an axel OR is age 12+

Competitive 1 - Is consistently landing 3 double jumps

Competitive 2 - Is consistently landing 2 double jumps

Elite - Is consistently landing a double axel or better. Axel may be under-rotated but not downgraded.


Pricing for CanSkaters

A discount of 10% is offered when registering and paying for two or more CanSkaters for the same season at the same time.  In addition to skating fees, an annual Skate Canada Membership fee of $32.70 per skater is charged as well as an annual Club Fundraising fee of $20 per family.


Pricing for "Learn to Compete Plus" Skaters

For skaters who are following the Skate Canada Long Term Athlete Development Model we offer a capped price of $4600 for on-ice sessions for the Fall/Winter season.  Once you select all your sessions, complete the check-out process and if your total for ice fees is over $4600, select the "off line payment" option.  We will manually adjust your invoice and then you can choose your preferred payment method and frequency.
